This year’s edition focuses on interaction between the village of Watou and the artists, on the interplay between art and poetry and breaking the boundaries between people, art and design. Each artwork is placed in a public space; it doesn’t only beautify the place, but adds an extra dimension to the site. Each piece of art has ‘a sense of place’ where it reflects the artist’s understanding and appreciation of the place, culture and traditions of the site where it is placed. 

Located in the Westhoek region, near the French border and right next to Extremis, it's the love we share for the countryside, art, and design that connects Extremis with the art festival. Bearing the principle of ‘sense of place’ in mind, Extremis has carefully positioned several design tables across the village. Aiming to bring people together in all senses of the word; together around a table, sharing a seat surrounded by art and together in the lovely region. 

In Watou itself, visitors will recognize familiar locations. Several new locations will provide a surprising route through the village. Watou remains the base of the arts festival and showcases the bulk of the artists and poets, and just like last year, Kasteel De Lovie will be part of the route.
