Extremis products don’t need to shout. We want our furniture to attract people, but even more to blend in any setting, during its entire lifespan. Natural materials like wood or anodised aluminium do that. Also colours do that. Our tools are designed to last longer. That’s why you won’t see very fashionable or trendy colour schemes in our bigger, most important products. These colours are often combined with wood.
The wood will reveal its true personality after a while, as it starts to fade and turn silvery grey when exposed to sun and rain. Trend colours should be added rather as a decorative element, for example a cushion or something that can be replaced from time to time.
Our furniture is inspired by architecture, which protects us and provides a haven for the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Furniture is a form of micro architecture, a warm cocoon where we spend time with friends and family. Just like a tool, Extremis furniture performs in silence and humility: it gathers people together, lets them relax and brings them closer to nature while the thing itself disappears into the background. The design, the colours and the materials are pure and timeless. But there is no doubt: although it is not always visible, this is indeed cutting-edge industrial design with a high-tech side.
