West Michigan's new state-of-the-art Amphitheater is open and bringing big-name acts to the area. Concert goers can enjoy the show from the comfort of Walrus, Panigiri, or Hopper AA in a prime VIP area.
While West Michigan is known for it’s harsh winters, the people who live there take full advantage of being outdoors while they can— which means it makes sense that they’d devote a 31-acre space of prime real estate to a wide-ranging redevelopment that includes a 12,000-seat outdoor amphitheater.
This state-of-the-art arena is positioned along the Grand River, adjacent to downtown Grand Rapids. Designed by Progressive AE, the space was furnished in collaboration with Custer Inc. The design includes a variety of seating options — from an upper and lower concourse, fixed and lawn seating, suites, a terrace, and a VIP pavilion. Having opened in the spring of 2026, the amphitheater has already pulled in some big-name performers and expects to host around 300,000 visitors per season.
As a boost to the VIP experience, the design includes a mix of Extremis options across the VIP area. If you’re looking to sit back and enjoy the show, you can lounge on Walrus with a prime view of the stage. If drinking, eating, and socializing is more your speed, then grab a seat with your group at either Hopper AA or Panigiri. Both are positioned to enjoy the show while taking in the full VIP experience.
