Lounging above the bowl at Acrisure Amphitheater

In hospitality

The Club Terrace at Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids, Michigan is the quiet half of a loud night out. Walrus sofas line the limestone wall and Hopper aluminum picnic tables look out over the bowl, so guests can drop into a conversation or a plate of fries without losing sight of the stage.
Two hours before the support act, this is the best seat in the house.

A terrace with two speeds
Not everyone watches a concert the same way. Some want to be on their feet at the barrier, others want a soft seat and a good conversation. The Club Terrace makes room for both, which is why it holds two very different pieces of Extremis furniture.

Walrus, for the people who arrive early
Walrus is an outdoor sofa that stores its own cushions. Open up the back and everything is in there. For a venue that sits empty five days a week and fills up on the sixth, that is worth a lot. No stacking cushions ahead of a storm, no cover to wrestle with, no crew carrying seats indoors. Open it up and it is ready.

Hopper aluminum, for the people who came to eat
Hopper is the picnic table that solved the climbing problem. Low entry points and slanted bench corners mean you slide in instead of clambering over your neighbor. In the all aluminum version, it is light enough for the staff to move between events, and it can live outside all year. The finish settles into the limestone and steel of the building, which is exactly what a venue wants from its furniture.

Furniture that works a full season
Around 300,000 people pass through the amphitheater each season. In a building like this, outdoor furniture is not decoration, it is infrastructure. It has to handle weather, crowds and cleaning crews, and still feel like somewhere you want to sit down.
