Lunch breaks under the trees
Namur, France
In projects, Gargantua
At the San Mazuin Group, the workday now begins surrounded by nature. Landscape architect François Charlier transformed this industrial site into a green haven, replacing asphalt and parking spaces with trees, plants, and a welcoming terrace.
Trees and a Fresh Perspective
Pines, black birches, and a trio of rescued Japanese cherry trees now breathe life into the office grounds. Carefully selected for their beauty and shade, these 41 trees bring color in spring, cool relief in summer, and even food for birds in winter.
At the heart of the design sits an elevated terrace furnished with Gargantua tables. This spot quickly became a favorite for staff—perfect for lunch breaks, quick meetings, or simply unwinding under the dappled shade of the trees. The tables primarily serve as a place for the team to enjoy lunch together, but they also double as a haven for formal and informal meetings or as a spot to work with a laptop in an entirely different setting.
This outdoor zone, surrounded by greenery, offers a much-needed escape to recover from the pressures of the workday, providing fresh air, calm, and renewed energy.
