Winter Garden in Austria

Hochstraß, Austria

At home

In Hochstraß, nestled within the lush, forested corridor surrounding Vienna, Begründer creates gardens where architecture and nature blend seamlessly. Their philosophy? A garden is more than just an outdoor space—it’s an extension of the home, a place of tranquility, aesthetics, and harmony with the surroundings. Even in winter, when a thick blanket of snow covers the landscape, the garden remains an inviting space to come together.

This vision comes to life in their outdoor showroom, where Extremis' Tools for Togetherness embody their philosophy. Hopper, with its long, welcoming benches, is ready for cozy winter picnics. Gargantua, the timeless round table, brings people of all ages together, no matter the season. And then there’s Walrus, the innovative outdoor sofa designed to withstand the winter chill. With a simple motion, built-in blankets and cushions unroll from the backrest—ready to sink into with a warm cup of tea while taking in the breathtaking winter scenery.

At both Extremis and Begründer, outdoor living knows no seasons. Just like a home, a garden is a place to gather all year round—made possible by thoughtful design and durable materials.
