This was IMM 2020

We began our year with a successful participation at the international furniture fair IMM in Cologne. Our innovative 'tools for togetherness' were presented in a Spanish pink fortress that spoke to the imagination of every color-loving heart!

A colorful concept

What will the future look like? According to the UN, +70% of the world population will live in urban areas by 2050. In this near future, what will make a city a desirable place to live in? Private spaces will continue to become smaller, therefore the creation of more shared public spaces will be necessary as an offset.

Muralla Roja

Back in 1968 Ricardo Bofill designed the ‘Muralla Roja’ project in Calpe, Spain. The layout of this apartment building challenged the increasing division between public and private space. That’s why Extremis brought its creations, designed for the future in a setting inspired by this pastel-colored complex.

Audio tour

At the IMM fair, visitors could take an audio tour that showed them a glimpse of the daily life at the 'residencias privadas' that were hiding between the red and pink walls. Curious to know how that went? Watch the movie and experience it yourself.

Exciting novelties

To contrast the pastel shades of the Pink Fortress, we displayed our furniture pieces in new color configurations. A revamped look for some of our ‘tools for togetherness’ and even a bold new look with our Memphis style Bistroo. The result? A combination of eight colors, a touch of gold and even a stunning dark green marble tabletop.

Meet hopper AA

Hopper who?

But the cherry on top was the new Hopper AA (All Aluminium), the biggest eye-catcher of them all. Thanks to its streamlined design and mono-material construction, it was able to enamor a lot of visitors.
