Hopper turns sixteen!

Sixteen years ago, Hopper was born. And like all good designs, it has aged beautifully. Since its launch in 2010, the Hopper picnic table by Extremis has become one of the most recognizable outdoor tables in contemporary design. Inspired by the rhythm of the hop fields in Belgium’s Westhoek region, its distinctive silhouette is instantly recognizable.

But Hopper is not just about looks. Its clever bent-leg structure eliminates the awkward climb over picnic benches. No lifting your leg. No disturbing your neighbours. Just slide in and sit down. The fixed benches keep the design visually clean and permanently tidy. No loose chairs that get blown away. No clutter. Hopper picnic always looks structured and minimal.

Over the years, Hopper has found its way into gardens, campuses, terraces and public spaces all over the world. Along the way it has received numerous international design awards, including Red Dot, iF Design Award, Good Design Award, German Design Award and the Henry van de Velde Award.

Meet BYOS: Bring Your Own Seat

What’s a birthday without a little gift?

To celebrate Hopper’s Sweet 16, we’re introducing BYOS. A playful twist on the familiar phrase BYOB - Bring Your Own Bottle. Because Hopper is, at heart, a picnic table. Because Hopper is, at heart, a picnic table. And picnic tables traditionally belong at beer festivals. But instead of bringing your own bottle, you can now Bring Your Own Seat.

To celebrate Hopper’s Sweet 16, we’re offering a special birthday treat.

From March 15 until June 15, 2026, private customers who purchase a Hopper picnic (lenghts: 240, 300 or 360 cm) will receive two Hopper BYOS seats for free.

Hopper is built to last for generations, thanks to its high-quality materials. Choose between a version with warm wooden tabletop or go for the all-aluminium Hopper AA for a sleek, monomaterial look.

Looking for even more comfort? You can also add cushions or a Hopper shade to create the perfect outdoor setting.
