Shit happens. Sometimes a wooden slat breaks or warps excessively.

Hey! You don’t need to be an engineer to understand our products. And you don’t even need to be great at DIY to replace a part. Do make sure that you can’t repair the damage simply by sanding the slat. If that’s not possible, follow these steps to replace a slat.

• Unscrew the damaged slat.
  Never remove more than one part at a time. 
• Replace it with the new slat.
  Note the spacing between parts and lay the replacement part in place. 
• Clamp the slat to the frame: if the space around the piece is equal all round, clamp it with table clamps. 
• Drill the slat with a short drill. The hardness of our wood species means that you definitely need to drill the holes first.
  Use a 3 mm diameter drill bit, and you may want to use a stop so that your holes are no more than 1.5 cm deep. 
• Screw it tight - now you can screw the new slat into place. 

And you’re ready to go! There may be a color difference with other slats, but this will fade over time if the furniture is outdoors.
